Hi Marc

While i really do not follow your math (a yearly DA subscription renewal would cost $599, not $1549, wherever that number came from),

Sorry, I read too fast your post (I missed the comma after "for AnyDAC 2...".

Now I don't understand your math.

Given the pricing of Data Abstract for Delphi at $899 for a yearly subscription and the yet-to-be-announced price for AnyDAC 2, you're looking at something along the lines of a $650 value you are getting, at no charge.

If subscription for the whole year is $899, how come that for 6 months we are getting $650 in savings? Shouldn't it be $450?

Thanks.
Zoran

Very sad to hear this news.
I like thindac's small footprint with RTC comb.

Because you're getting AnyDAC 2,0 as well, the price of which isn't announced yet, but you can estimate based on the number i quoted above.

That said, it could be argued that the bulk of the value of any of the two products is in the initial delivery, more so than in the subsequent upgrades, so a half-a-year subscription could actually be considered worth a lot more than just *half* the price.

But whatever price tag you want you put on it, i hope what we're giving away will compensate for the inconvenience of losing ThinDAC (which, i'm afraid to say, would have gone away either way. our DA offer is just an attempt to make that easier for the existing customers).

Thanx for understanding, and once again, feel free to contact me any time at <mh at remobjects dot com> if there is anything i can do for you.

Yours,
marc

Dear Gentlemen

1.What is the future for the existing C++Builder ThinDAC users
in your business plans ?
2. What are your plans regarding the C++ community members?

We are anxiously waiting a clean position.

We currently do not actively support C++Builder with Data Abstract, although we are not aware of any problems using DA with it. As for AnyDAC 2.0, we will announce the supported platforms and tools at launch, but i believe currently C++Builder has a good chance of being supported.

Please realize that a decision such as whether to support C++Builder has far-reaching consequences beyond the initial "get it to compile on C++Builder", in terms of long-term support and maintenance of the platform. We cannot lightheartedly commit to supporting C+Builder with DA (especially given the low demand for the platform) without considering the substantial cost it will have for us, for maintaining said supporting into the foreseeable future.

thank you,
marc

So Dmitry and Marc,

How do I get my money back for the ver 2.x that I purchased that you committed supply?

I do not want to use RO/AnyDAC.

As Dmitry is aware I needed ThinDAC 2.x to fix some short comings in version 1.x

Hello

1) You have purchased ThinDAC v 1.0 about 9 months ago. And you got ThinDAC v 1.0. The ThinDAC discontinuation does not invalidate that.
2) Also you had 1 month of money back guarantee. After that time we does not return money for purchased products.

Regards,
Dmitry
