Old site was pure hand made. In rest of world "hand made" equals to "expensive", if it was done by profy :) But we are not profy in Web technologies. And it was real pain to extend and maintain content of old da-soft.com. Although, the site was and is very fast and with simple navigation. Thanks to Serge Serrebrov, who have suggested to move to Joomla. We have installed Joomla almost without problems. Just were some minor issues with access rights on our Linux server. But installation was finished and site was running right from first minute. Nice ! Although I cannot compare with other CMS. Then we have ordered Joomla templates here. And 2 weeks later, or so, we was happy with very nice design. Ok, ok ... It is just my own testy :) And most valuable "testing" work have done Alexander. Thanks ! Joomla really is very different world for any programmer with object oriented mind. Somehow, but I am remembering Sybase PowerBuilder. There was no difference between class and object ... Here is even worser. How this guys are writing theyr software ? Mission was looking almost impossible for me ! But one week later (we have a lot of projects !) we got things working and looking quite nice. Time to belive in own forces :) Some things looking strange at beginning, but later you understanding they really works ... Because guys really spend time to make this system working ! And it working. So many thanks to Joomla team ! In two week we going into site production phase. And right then we going to host our two new products and extend AnyDAC area. Things are getting hot here ! PS: Site is still under development. You see, this blog is about site, not about Programming/Delphi. But all things are related on the Earth |
